Jewellery identification

Do you own a piece of traditional jewellery, but don't know exactly what it is or where it is from? This is the question I get asked the most! I will be happy to look into your piece(s) and provide you with as many details as possible.

You will receive a digital file in pdf, detailing:

- your piece,

- its cultural background and significance,

- explanations for the choices of materials, colors and motifs

- a short overview of literature and other sources (if available) for further reading.

If you send me the dimensions and weight of your piece, I will include these, and otherwise leave room for you to note down these details later. In this way, the file will also serve as a collection file for your jewellery.

I offer this service on a 'no cure, no pay'-basis: if I can't help you, for example because your piece is outside my area of expertise, I will not charge you either. If at all possible I will refer you to another specialist who might be of help.

Feel free to send me an email with a photo of your piece! I will get back to you with a quotation and an estimate of the time I will need to write the story of your piece for you.
