Between fear and fashion: magic in silver jewelry - National Museum of Antiquities, January 11, 2011 Lecture on the magical aspects of silver jewelry, illustrated with photographs from the author’s collection.

Exclusive workshop silver jewelry and costumes – Teylers Museum, March 29 2011. This evening, Teylers Museum welcomed its most distinguished benefactors. The guests enjoyed several workshops around the current exhibition Egypt and Napoleon. Sigrid has presented a workshop on silver jewelry with original jewelry items together with Jolanda Bos, who shared  antique faceveils and costumes.

Exhibition ‘Charming: Bedouin Jewellery and Veils’

From October 16, 2010 to March 13, 2011 the exhibition Charming has been on display in the National Museum of Antiquities, Leiden, the Netherlands. The exhibition is curated by Sigrid and features silver jewelry from three private collections. The exhibition has been organized in association with the major exhibition on Egyptian Magic and is based on the book Desert Silver.

Charming Desert Silver - National Museum of Antiquities. Opening of the exhibition Charming and presentation of the book Desert Silver, i.c.w. KIT Publishers. The book was presented to Arita Baaijens, traveler, photographer and Fellow of the National Geographic Society.
